So according to the timeline at https://www.isc2.org/About/Board-of-Directors/Board-Elections the current Board's list of preferred candidates in this years election (the 2019 Slate) should have been announced on 14th June. I don't see anything on the news or the blog pages on the website, and I haven't received any email notification yet.
Does anyone have insight into when the Slate will be announced?
It would seem that the election won't be held on time either (12th Sept) as the bylaws state that there must be 90 days between the announcement of the Slate and the election

I don't think "suppressed" is the right word. Suppressed implies deliberate action on somebody's part to remove something that would otherwise be visible. Since the forum's main page is automatically generated, the more likely cause is that other topics better met the qualifications for 3 of the 4 places that this topic could conceivably appear:
- "Latest topics" shows the 5 topics that were most recently started, as measured by the date of the initial posting. Clicking ">>" a few times reveals that 53 topics have been started subsequent to this one (as I write this), which is why it is not in the top 5.
- "Top Kudoed", shows the 5 topics with the most Kudos that were given to the initial posting. Since the initial post has zero kudos, this discussion appears at about the 100th position on that list and is visible if you click "load more" enough. It does appear that "Latest Topics" is used as a secondary sort on this list and that discussion topics age off the list after 30 days or so.
- "Solved" shows the 5 topics that have most recently been marked as "solved". Since this capability has only been enabled in the "Tech Talk" group, this discussion topic is ineligible for that list due to it being in the "Member Support" group.
- "Recent Activity" is the list on which this topic has generally been in the top 5. In the few times it has been bumped out, it has been within one or two "load more" clicks.
You are probably right about the algorithm, but I suspect it has more to do with this discussion being in the Member Support area then anything as the reason it is not being promoted. That is why I asked @amandavanceISC2 to respond. Thanks.

Oh, unsupported "facts" pretty much are.
This is exactly why the membership needs full access to Committee meeting minutes and work notes.

Sounds like an excellent suggestion ...

My, my, my. It appears *somebody* has micturated (I'll bet *that* gets by the pr0n filter) in Wim's cornflakes this morning ...

Ah, the old "Oh, the stories I could tell!" attack ...

That's *old* news. When has the Board *not* spoken with one voice?

Does she post on LinkeDin because nobody actually cares what gets posted on LinkeDin? I mean, why not here? (If she wanted anyone to actually read and respond to it?)

Well, as long as everybody gets their own cost centre, we'll all good, right?

Hey, I hated them *long* before you did, and *I* had to deal more closely with them ...

Ummm, *what*? I mean, isn't the whole budget supposed to be to benefit the membership *every* year?

Wait, what?
We spent $10,000,000 on those stupid PDI courses?
OK, everybody out of the pool. Any Board that mismanages that much money in that way needs to be completely turfed.

Oh, oh! I know the answer to this one! Pick me!
"Hot Topics," by default (AND WE HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR OVER A YEAR
FOR A CHANGE ON THIS) is based on how many kudoes the original post got.
(Not, note, the topic in general and all replies, but simply the original post.) You
can change that with the drop down option box in the upper right corner, and
"(ISC)2 Board of Directors election" pops right up to the top. (WHICH WE
HAVE BEEN ASKKING FOR A YEAR TO HAVE MADE THE DEFAULT
SETTING.)
So, nobody is suppressing anything, except by designed intent.
@rslade thanks for making me laugh today 🙂

Release the corporate tax returns to members! Let's really talk numbers! Let your buddies in the CISSPforum members chew on that one.
