Exciting Milestone: CC Is Now Accredited & Meets ANSI/ISO/IEC Standard 17024

The newest certification from (ISC)², Certified in Cybersecurity, has earned accreditation by the ANSI National Accreditation Board – known as ANAB – for meeting ANSI/ISO/IEC Standard 17024. It’s a notable milestone that lends further recognition to the certification, which was introduced last September for entry-level cybersecurity practitioners.

The accreditation increases the value of the Certified in Cybersecurity for current and future holders, who now have further assurances that the certification meets the same rigorous standards as all other (ISC)² certifications.

(ISC)² was the first cybersecurity certifying body to meet the requirements of ANSI/ISO/IEC Standard 17024, which is a global benchmark for certifying qualified professionals.

“By achieving ANAB accreditation, it provides assurance for career hopefuls and jobseekers that the certification is held at a premier standard, like CISSP, for assessing one’s knowledge, skills and abilities,” said Dr. Casey Marks, Chief Qualifications Officer at (ISC)².

From the FAQ:

Q: What are the requirements to maintain the Certified in Cybersecurity certification after passing the exam?

A: Certified in Cybersecurity credential holders will need to earn 45 CPE credits during their three-year certification cycle to maintain the certification. We recommend earning 15 credits per year.

See the CPE handbook for an overview of what qualifies and how to maintain records. (ISC)² does maintain a list of CPE opportunities, but one can also document their own Continuing Professional Education activities in the database; it is not necessary to use (ISC)²'s.

Are there people that are willing to meet up to study for the CC Exam. I will be taking the Exam on June 2.
