I think they noted earlier on in the thread that they weren't going to give out that info.

 

So no idea how many levels or what is needed for each level.

I've never found it documented, but it seems to be automated into the system. As far as I can tell it is based strictly on number of postings, and, if I had to guess, I'd estimate about 50 postings per sub-level. In other words, to get to Contributor II, you have to have made 50 posts since you made Contributor I.
