Certification Stats

I know that there are stats for the various certifications posted at https://www.isc2.org/About/Member-Counts and are updated twice per year.

My question is how many people hold both the ISSEP and the ISSAP? Is it possible to find out that number? I assume that some number of the 1256 ISSEP holders are also among the 2147 ISSAP holders. I'm curious how many.

Thanks,
Steve Mencik

Thank-you!

I do have questions. If you have 107 that hold all 3 concentrations, wouldn't that mean you have at least that many that have ISSAP and ISSEP, rather than 85? Or are these additive or partially additive?

I was looking for the number of folks that have those 2 concentrations, regardless of whether they had any additional certs or not. While geographic information would be interesting, that wasn't part of my question.

The information provided though is very interesting.

Hi @mencik

Thanks for your patience as I retrieved this information. I found this to be pretty interesting!

We have 85 members who hold both the CISSP-ISSAP and CISSP-ISSEP concentrations. Some of them hold other certifications as well, aside from the CISSP. The number of folks who hold only CISSP-ISSAP, ISSEP is 55.

We actually have 107 members who hold all three CISSP concentrations! Many of them hold additional other certifications, as well. The number who hold only CISSP-ISSAP, ISSEP, ISSMP is 30.

Finally, just for giggles - we have FOUR members who hold all nine (ISC)² certifications!

I don't have any of the information about who these members are (location, how long they've been certified, etc.). So, there's not a ton of questions I can answer about this, but if you need clarification, let me know.

Amazing! Thank you, @Kaity

As has been mentioned, I suspect the 85 and 107 numbers have been mixed up, but really interesting stats nonetheless.

Do you think there's a chance these can be expanded out to cover all multi-cert combinations, and published regularly as part of the member counts?

No, the numbers were not mixed up. There are 107 who have all three concentrations and then a separate group of 85 who have just ISSAP and ISSEP.

I hope this helps!

So a total of 192 that have both ISSEP and ISSAP, some of which also have ISSMP. That would be the number I was looking for. To answer the question I asked, it is irrelevant whether they have anything else. Only do they have both ISSEP and ISSAP?

Sorry, I thought the other information was interesting and so I included it. But glad I was able to provide what you were looking for.

Don't be sorry, the information is very interesting. I just want to be sure I have to correct number. I've been trying to explain to my management how rare folks are that have both certs. Being able to say accurately that only 192 people have both provides the specificity they want.

Ah, I see! Now that is interesting, that more people hold all three concentrations than just both the ISSAP and ISSEP together.

I can kind of speak to that a little bit. I was CISSP-ISSAP, ISSEP, CCSP certified when I decided to do the ISSMP exam really just to complete the full set of concentrations.

As it happened, I was between jobs at the time, so even paid for the ISSMP out of my own pocket such was my desire to hold all three concentrations - all of my other ISC2 certifications were paid for by former employers.

Very interesting talking points, and seeing these kinds of stats I feel can motivate people to elevate themselves to earn ever more exclusive combinations of certs, which is why I feel there is value in publishing them more regularly.

Thanks again, @Kaity!

@Kaity

Thank you and interesting numbers.

Today I have provisionally passed the ISSEP concentration, and this is my 3rd concentration.

From the member count dated Jan 1, 2021, I don't see anyone in Hong Kong or China (I am from HK) who has certified in ISSEP, not sure if I am correct. (assuming no one in my city/country certified in ISSEP) , then does this make me the only one (to be certified) in ISSEP (assuming I have no surprise in the certification process) and the only one possessing all 3 CISSP concentration in my city or country?

@AlecTrevelyan also thank you very much on the previous post and now I have completed both CSSLP and ISSEP which I originally planned for 2020 but still make it finally with a little delay.

Congratulations @csjohnng!

Since we only update that page twice a year, I can't speak to anything more concrete on if there are other CISSP-ISSEP members in China or Hong Kong. Once we update in July, if it says there is only 1 CISSP-ISSPE in Hong Kong, you will know that is you!

Congrats once again!
