The NHS initially said they were going to "grow their own" contact tracing app. No they say they are switching to the Google/Apple protocol. But, the NHS app has not been released, and, when it is, it may not contain contact tracing. It's all rather confusing.
More changes are taking place in contact tracing. Germany, Italy, and Denmark had previously announced that they would be using centralized tracing, but all now seem to be moving to a decentralized model.
