Ross Anderson (yes, that Ross Anderson, the one who wrote "Security Engineering," the best single volume for security and the one I recommend to anyone taking the exam, and he even put it online for everyone) was to receive an award at a ceremony in Washington, DC (richly deserved, whatever it was).
And the US wouldn't give him a visa to come get it.
