Deepfake battle - ISC2 Community

Deepkake is getting more prominent by the day, Zuckerberg and co seem to have been caught by surprise with no clear strategy to deal with it.

This may become the next big technological battle to figure how to use deepfake in a positive and beneficial way, rather than surrender it to the abuse side.

More than likely, this is a battle that will be fought in AI field, AI vs. AI

You are likely correct, that it'll become an AI vs AI battle, but the application of filters could be done in the apps and the browsers.

Perhaps the news, life streams and alike, could be authenticated by the unique certificate embedded in the recording technology and become the only sources qualified for these categories and could be clearly labeled as "Real".

Anything else, such as the computer generated content, will not get the certs and thus will be disqualified for the categories or, if embedded, will trigger automatic real-time identifier that its authenticity cannot be verified.
