Big Hero 6 lives?

A team of Swiss researchers have created very simple robots, based on ants, capable of surprisingly complicated tasks and feats.

(Alarmingly so, for those who fear the AI singularity ...)

@rsladeWell isn't this the start of the "Borg", you will be assimilated?  Centred around the "hive" Mind as part of a collective.  Is this any different?

I suspect this particular collective is only interested in assimilating simpler
machines. Anything up to the level of a push-button blender might be in danger ...

This reminds me of an episode of the Star Trek series that featured 'Nanites' : microscopic robots that would interact with one another to carry out assigned tasks. Though seemingly harmless, they somehow evolved to the point of becoming a threat to the Enterprise in that episode.

So we may not be safe for too long... 

(And interestingly, these were considered for use to combat the Borg in a later season)
