Some exam preps that worked for me on the day before the test were:
I stayed in a hotel that was next door to the testing center.
- This worked for me because it reduced the amount of stress that I normally would have to face.
- I didn't have to worry about traffic or parking.
I:
- laid my clothes and snacks out the night before.
- did not review any of material.
- ate a healthy dinner early (by 5PM)
- did some light stretching and a little cardio.
- silenced my cell phone
- only watched the weather, as far as news.
I got plenty of sleep.
It worked for me!

This is excellent advise. I would also suggest a light-hearted movie after dinner to help refocus one's self into the Zen-mode that is perfect for test taking. And yes, stay away from studying, work, politics, and anything else distracting/stressful in the hours leading up to the exam.
Not really much different than performing preventative maintenance and filling up the car's tank before taking it on a trip.
