For those who look for credible sources to keep their CPE up-to-date.
The Big List of Free Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Resources for InfoSec and CISSP
Love this 'Heck, our VP of Marketing is a CISSP.' It should be spoken out loud in you best John Wayne impersonation, with the correct substitution for 'Heck.'
Nice list. I'll plug Host Unkown's ahem, educational videos:
Might not get past audit, but fun all the same...
I've looked at CPEs anew, having lapsed my CISSP once as I couldn't be bothered to record stuff. I decided this: Join another big security/privacy org that needs CPEs, and then Tai Chi conferences and courses with both. If you have enough lucky to have a development plan/budget you can align to this, and a couple of weeks training a year will nicely eat through CPE requirments. I find having a couple of orgs you need similar for helps with motivation.
That's a pretty good list. They left out the website of Iron Geek (Adrian Crenshaw), which has thousands of hours from security cons: https://irongeek.com
A few years back when I was an (ISC)2 board member, I consistently heard members say they couldn't find CPEs. So, I went on a personal rampage to post them to Twitter ( #CPE4Free / #CPEs4Free) , about 2 postings per day for 3 years, as a guess.
I've posted roughly 10,000 hours of CPEs on Twitter, and publish a daily "Virtual Security Conference" site with videos, podcasts, etc.
Here's today's edition: https://paper.li/SecWonk/1380860351#/
I get nothing from this except smiles. Zero ad revenue. Enjoy, share, learn, pass the knowledge on.
