I've looked at CPEs anew, having lapsed my CISSP once as I couldn't be bothered to record stuff. I decided this: Join another big security/privacy org that needs CPEs, and then Tai Chi conferences and courses with both. If you have enough lucky to have a development plan/budget you can align to this, and a couple of weeks training a year will nicely eat through CPE requirments. I find having a couple of orgs you need similar for helps with motivation.

Also...

A few years back when I was an (ISC)2 board member, I consistently heard members say they couldn't find CPEs.  So, I went on a personal rampage to post them to Twitter ( #CPE4Free / #CPEs4Free) , about 2 postings per day for 3 years, as a guess.

I've posted roughly 10,000 hours of CPEs on Twitter, and publish a daily "Virtual Security Conference" site with videos, podcasts, etc.

You'll probably have to document it to make a case for CPEs, but anything you can find by Grace Hopper is likely both educational and entertaining  🙂

Volunteering gives you some great CPE opportunities.  (So does BSides.)

You can join our Vancouver Chapter, and attend our meetings remotely.

There are lots of good one-off videos on security topics, like this one about not being fooled by click-bait fake news.

You can read books!

You can find resources on Twitter (although, again, you face the documentation/proof problem ...)

If you join the replacement CISSPforum you'll find numerous discussions of CPE possibilities, and lots of details and resources, in the archives ...
