Why Tagging? Tagging posts in the Community helps others to find content quickly. A good way to tag an article is to think of other ways people may talk about the topic. Here’s an example – talking about a Chief Information Security Officer? You might want to tag the post with “CISO” so other users can easily search for other articles related to this topic.
Why Kudos? Kudos can have many meanings, but they work best when you want to show someone you read through their article, appreciate (or agree) with their insights, give a thank you for supplying the information, or if you just want to say “Job well done!”

@SamanthaO_isc2 I've noticed that the Enable badge is not given even though I qualify for all 4 activities. I see @rslade had the same problem. Seems like this is a bigger issue?
@SamanthaO_isc2, we're all under the impression that the badges are automatically awarded once members have met the requirements. Given that multiple parties have stated that they haven't received theirs, please inquire with the site developers, as it looks like the system's got bugs.
We wouldn't want members complaining that this is starting to seem like the CPE portal --- except that here the reporting is fully automatic and even if you've met all the requirements, you have to 'claim' your dues...
Thank you for posting about this. Currently, it is a manual process for awarding these badges, so while it may take a little time, this is not an issue with the Community platform. I will be running the necessary reports going forward on Fridays each week. Apologies for the switch up and delay for this week - I was originally running them on Monday's so this weeks was behind a little with the switch in days.

Sorry for the delay in my response. Yes, the Enrich badge could only be earned in June and July so it is a too late to earn that one. In October and November, we will have the Excel badge, though - so make sure to take a look here to see what qualifies for that badge.
The use of badges (i.e. some form of acclaim) can serves as meaningful endorsements for community messaging & engagement.
Recall my experiences within “Big Blue”, where sharing collateral served to disseminate knowledge and recognition in a positive manner - where reuse was tracked and therefore served to identify fulcrums of knowledge with real-world skills (yet also allowed leachers to simply download/use presentations & reports without given back to the community beyond download metadata). Tags served to help identify resources, together with people contributing into the collateral. Comments also served to identify collateral and pepilepsy of value. Separately to “document sharing & community pages”, the company has grown usage of “acclaim” skill badges.
also recall my first experiences of Okta, via the Varonis community portal. Over a few months I had explored extensively the community features - using the badge system to identify interesting characters of knowledge and tutorials/skill sharing. From this observer model I then pivoted into contributor - and appeared to gain fair reputation as an external tech specialist (rather than a Varonis employee). In earning badges & points I was then able to acquire Varonis swag 😉
perhaps the only negative that I observed during my community time was that - if a user were to depart from their registered company, then there account risked being deleted - and both their existing content and potential future contributions risked being lost. I lobbied for this to be remedied, such that community members & material would be preserved. When I eventually changed company I then experienced this, and lost access to my community profile (including badges, points, and collateral that I had given to the community). This seemed a poor choice, with no grandfathering option nor ability to switch to a private account/email rather than corporate partner/client email.
Great initiative that allows for greater sharing in the community. I would suggest it is analogous to a “LinkedIn” type platform? Which is a good idea.
