Kudos....
I wonder why so many of the posts I read, and sometimes respond to, have zero, yes, you read right I said ZERO kudos, even though there are responses to the posts, and responses to the responses to the posts.
I get it that there are some people who don't like the Kudo system, and that's fine, because it's no more really than the Like system on various other systems.
But, I find that if you read a post, and respond to it, or not, if the post is interesting, then simply click that Kudo button.
It tells the person who wrote the post that you appreciate them taking the time to write it.
Then, if you disagree with what was written, have a different viewpoint, or agree, you can choose whether you want to respond or not.
But come on, give the guys and gals some Kudo's.
It's just a click away.... (when they work 😉 )
I've used other security community platforms which didn't adopt the 'like' button and other aspects of more general social media. To be honest I prefer those. Although I suppose 'kudo' stands in for I've read your post, typed response is better.
If you kudo everything, effectively you kudo nothing.
With regards to kudos as a form of saying thank you, I'd much rather people actually take the time to post their thanks than kudo if they've been helped, but if you kudo as a form of thanks then that's better than nothing.
Now meta-kudos? Meta-security?
I think I need a meta-nap and dream of meta-kudos-sheep.
