Hello everybody,

My name is Bert ten Cate. I just recently became a CISSP, and am very proud of it 🙂 !

I live in the Netherlands and work for local government as a senior system administrator. My responsibilities are mainly in the field of security. Prior to my job for local government I was a security systems engineer. I am looking to advance my career into the field of cyber security and obtaining my CISSP status was a mayor step.

I am looking forward to participating in this community.

Kind regards,

I am a highly experienced Security Specialist, compliance manager, data governance and protection. With additional skills in infrastructure architect, consultancy, technical specialist, and project management (waterfall and agile). I have over 22 years experience in telecommunications and IT.

I have successfully delivered managed services, data centres and associated infrastructure for electronic card payment services.

I am currently working with Cloud  infrastructure and also online gaming.

Specialties: ISO 27001 accreditation for including addition to and modification of existing processes.

PCI Level 1 compliance for  including design and implementation of new processes and data centres.

Hi all,

I'm Ted. I'm currently studying for my CISSP exam, which I sit on November 18th.  My background is 23 years in the British Royal Navy, of which I spent 17 years as a Communications Technician.  Since leaving the Navy in 2000 I've held senior management positions, but 8 years ago moved to the UAE to help train their Navy in Electronic Warfare and Communications Intelligence.

Now looking forward to expanding my knowledge and experience with the CBK and CISSP.

Hi all!

My name is Casey Criswell, I am a Security Engineer for a financial company in central Indiana.  I sat and passed my CISSP exam on 10/3 and I'm currently in the waiting period for my endorsement to finish up!

I've been in IT for 21 years now, moved to Security about 2 years ago and love it.  Can't wait to learn more!  I have the CCSP on deck and considering a CISSP Focus in the near future.  Just haven't decided on Engineering or Architecture as of yet.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mario Mendoza and I’m a CISSP as well.

I am a Cyber Security Architect for Blackbaud working within the Cyber Security Engineering department. My main focus is integrating Security for data and application migrations from legacy environments (data centers, on prem, etc) into Cloud environments, like AWS and Azure. I’ve been at Blackbaud since 2012 and it’s a fun place to work, with lots of challenges and rewards.

I’ve been in Security since 2005 and a CISSP since 2012. Over the years I’ve learned so much from multiple companies, managers, organizational departments, friends, etc., so I like sharing my knowledge with those who aren’t in our field, and I’m always trying to recruit as many people as possible to become Security experts themselves.

Hi names Ammett,

Very pleased to meet you all. Now lets see; certifications; I have a few of those (ITIL foundations, MCITP, CGEIT, CCDP, Juniper Junos, CEH, CISSP) and I am also CCIE R&S certified.

I have approximately 11+ year IT experience, I am at the point where I want to diversify my portfolio and transition out of IT networking into more coding, cloud and security.

I am here to see all the good stuff the community has to offer an hopefully gain some knowledge that I can share sometime.

I have been in the IT-Security profession for less than a year, and it has been great so far. My current credential profile consists only of a CompTIA security certification. I intend to pass my first ISC2 exam during the first half of next year, and become an Associate of ISC2. I live in northern Louisiana so there is no Chapter near me, but I would like to become more involved over time and connect with mentors in my field.
