OK, this is weird.
@SamanthaO_isc2posted something at
https://community.isc2.org/t5/ISC-Updates/Happy-New-Year-2019/ba-p/17461.
She noted a new 2019 badge, and that you got it if you logged in during January.
Then I noted:
> SamanthaO_isc2 (Community Manager) posted a new article in (ISC)² Updates on
> To celebrate and kick off 2019 on the
> right foot, we have a 2019 New Year Badge!
Swoon! Be still my beating heart!
> All that is required to earn this
> badge is to log in to the Community throughout the month of January.
Do we *have* to log in?
The thing is ... I can't log out. When I click on the "Sign out" link under my profile options ... I still stay logged in. (Under the current version of Firefox, anyway.) And, without logging out, I probably can't log in, right?
But then, when I went to recheck on the original message, I don't have sufficient privs to read it.
What gives?
Given that I can not see Samantha's post, I was figuring that perhaps it was intended as an "rslade-only" badge.
Either that or (ISC)² had an ah-ha moment. Within recent weeks, we have reported to (ISC)² difficulties logging in with with MFA, logging in with MSIE and with logging out (privately reported). As of a few moments ago, all 3 problems persist. I'd bet all the candy remaining in my Christmas stocking that member support requested the badge be recalled until after federation has been fixed.
If you do want to logout, toss your cookies for isc2.org. But first, use incognito mode (or a different browser) to ensure that you will be able to log back in.
Hello @rslade,
The Happy New Year Post and badge have just been moved/delayed for the moment. Due to another ticket with our vendor (links opening in new windows by default), we cannot deploy the badge just yet. I thought we would be able to have it deployed yesterday when the post went live, I apologize for any confusion around that. As soon as we are able to deploy the badge the post will be moved back to the public space. The badge will still launch for anyone who logged in throughout the month of January.
The logout issue that you mention is something that I have noticed before, too. I will see if I can dig up some information on that. In regards to the badge, login processes on the Community when an action is taken, so everyone who visits the Community and performs at least one of the following will receive the badge: load a Community page, comment or post.
