Its annoying, its childish, and the last thing I need is the stupid announcements coming in email that I attained a new badge/received a kudo/whatever. Congratulations for having a freaking conversation... ooooh go me.
I wouldn't even give trophies to all the 4 year olds in micro soccer, they got soccer balls so they could play more.
This, when coupled with the whole attention economy dopamine hack bs that its based on, is not only ridiculous and offensive, it is NOT what ISC2 should be putting out in the wide world (let a lone to its constituency) just for clicks, and garbage metrics to attract more certification payments.
As Brett said, on the forum ISC has chosen to close, welcome to the new MCSE.

Or did you find a way to revoke your kudo?
@Dain, I think I found that you can remove kudos. Sometimes. In some places.
I'm not sure of the whole picture: there are some factors I seem to remember, but can't find right now. Anyway ...
Most of the time, when you see a posting, and you haven't given it a kudo, you see a green outline, green thumb, and white background, like so:
If you have given a kudo, you see a button with a green background, and the thumb in white:
If you click on that icon, you should "revert" your kudo, and take it back.
(At some point, I've seen "faded" kudos. I assume in those cases I've given a kudo, but can't take it back, for some reason. Sorry, at the moment I can't find an example to illustrate.)
Just popping in to let you know that if you see a greyed out kudo icon it should reside on one of your own posts. This is due to the fact that you cannot kudo your own post. If you see this on another post, it could be that kudos were turned off on the post itself.
If you notice this on a post and you are not sure why, feel free to ask!
On everyone's favorite social media outlet, Facebook, I will occasionally post something.
Nothing irritates Mrs. Fly more than when I go and *like* my post.
Sadly, I can't *kudos* my own posts here in Community. If I didn't appreciate what I had to say why would I go to the effort of posting my wisdom and sharing it with others?
Signed,
Kudos in absentia
I think we can upgrade the answer to "mostly". As @SamanthaO_isc2 earlier stated, you can opt out of email alerts for both Kudos and badges. Today, I ran across a setting to hide Kudos buttons and counts.
Although Kudos and Badges continue to exist, you will only see them on the summary pages and in your profile. If these remaining remnants bother you enough, a bit of tampermonkey work could hide them. There are examples of user blocking that may help you get started.
@Dain, If Kudos and Badges bother you so much, why have you given out 4 Kudos? Was it to satisfy an internal desire to earn the "Enrich" badge?

wonder if the reply works yet...
Reply via email function? I'm still testing, but it seems to be working intermittently ...
