Badges - Just like Steam/XBox/Playstation

Badges really are kind of juvenile. Makes me feel like I'm playing video games or Pokémon instead of discussing valid information security topics.

@Dain I agree. I do think that badges enhance the attention seeking people, but in almost every forum I have been on you have among your community the trolls, attention seekers, noobs, curmudgeons, helpful folks, and the casual posters. Adding badges does not mean it will attract more of them, just that it will please them more than other users. To me it is trivial. I feel the moderators on this forum have been pretty responsive and if we got someone in here that was just posting trash all of the time that the community and moderators would be able to take care of it.

Cisco started doing the same thing.  It made me avoid those forums, too.  And the millennials I know think the badges are just ridiculous.  I laughed when I saw people claim that it is for millennials.
