Hi. All
Read the piece attached to this link and think about the implications, of being able to fake real people, and put them in situations in which they physically were not present.

The inventors think this is absolutely great, but what are the implications and have they really thought them through?

This is why the legal systems have long had chain of custody, anti-tampering and obstruction of justice laws and the media is subject to anti-defamation laws. The (current) weakness is that the court-of-public-opinion is increasingly depending on less accountable sources, such as social media and news commentary.
But they take an inordinate time to have a realisation, and take action. Yes, the appropriate measures are well hidden unless one is a defense lawyer with plenty of resources to validate and take action as necessary.
A lot of the time, the law is way behind on a full understanding, whilst the rest of the world charges on waiting for the inevitable balanced controls to be put in place. It appears to be a human condition, we learn by painful experiences and when they occur, is action taken rather than being proactive.
