With more and more organizations sending their people home and work from there, I am curious if anyone can contribute some practical policies, guidelines, and procedures for the work-from-homers ?

I found this checklist to add to your discussion. Something you can share with the newest remote employees of your companies.
@AndreaMoore Thank you Andrea, I have circulated to the local chapter, and to our organisation - via Slack internally.
Many thanks

Malwarebytes is doing a Webinar on this topic. It's probably a sales seminar, but it will probably discuss some helpful points.

We posted a blog with tips for working from home. This might be helpful for you or feel free to share it.

How is everyone doing working from home? What changes have you implemented to stay sane and be productive?
I look forward to your discussion.

@AndreaMoore A very good blog indeed. In fact I used part of it as my P-Tech mentor introductory movie to the students for P-Tech as we have had to go digital to keep them motivated and aligned.
1) Keep to a routine, even if you feel rough - just keep doing it - helps enormously mentally.
2) Work with the other occupants within the house and don't disrupt them, they are not used to me at home this length of time. Work with them, not against them.
3) Keep collaborating with colleagues and show the shop is still working and one is still actively listening and participating.
4) A good time to do brain storming and solving issues via Mural with Design Thinking or other white boarding collaborative means.
5) A good time for learning, and even that needs discipline to keep it up.
6) Volunteer to do digital talks, ISC2 sponsorship assessment, keep the momentum up regardless - stiff upper lip the Brits used to call it.
7) Run up down the 90 metre steep drive at least one or twice a day despite the weather condition.
😎 Actively listening and understanding others point of view, observe and listen to what they are saying and make time for them - gives you a break too.
9) Do some basic exercises, deep breathing or even Yoga practices.
10) A great time to create new initiatives, new ideas, patents - think big, think wisely.
Use the EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services that are available, if you really need advice and need to solve problems, before they become major issues - problems can be solved, one just needs to work them through.

Office Shutdown: Securing an Increased Remote Workforce
The COVID-19 virus outbreak has put immense pressure on IT organizations who now need to scale remote access quickly to thousands of users working from home. Many organizations did not have a plan in place for this and are doing the best they can. Many remote workers haven’t been issued laptops or are using unmanaged devices that may not have adequate protections. Some companies are running into licensing issues for things like their VPN connections. Join ExtraHop and (ISC)2 on April 16, 2020 at 1:00PM Eastern for a timely discussion on how you can deal with performance and security implications of this shift and receive tips and best practices on how to deal with the situation we find ourselves in.
