I have a question about ESP.
I read the statement: “The ESP encrypts IP packets and ensures their integrity.”
My question is: does ESP ensure integrity?
I was under the impression that ESP provided confidentiality through encryption.
I was not aware that ESP ensured integrity.
Please confirm for me.
Thank you!
Actually, I had forgotten about ESP. The Wikipedia article says some neat things about it: "It provides origin authenticity through source authentication, data integrity through hash functions and confidentiality through encryption protection for IP packets."
And that makes sense because hashes typically ensure that the data received matches the data sent, so... yeah!
Exactly!
Thank you for researching it for me!
I came to the same conclusion last night!
And I had my exam this morning at 8:00 am.
I passed my exam.
I don’t have the experience to earn the certification. So, I look forward to another Associate of ISC2 badge!!
Thank you to everyone who answered my questions and provided me with motivation!
Whoa... that's awesome. And congratulations! Which exam did you take?
Thank you!!
I took the CCSP exam!
Congratulations on your success! Now you get to complete the experience component... but the exam is past you!
Thank you!!
We miss you.
Haven’t seen you around in a while.
Hope all is well with you.
I passed my exam!
@Spirnia I have my moments. Thank you for letting me know. I was sure that you would given the time and thought that put into it. Congratulations. Talk more soon.
