entry level job

hey, I am new to this field.  I am about to be certified as a CC, so I am also planning ahead and looking for entry-level CC jobs.  Do you have any tips on where I should be looking for a job in my area?  Thank you.

Hello! We're actually hosting Virtual Career Fairs coming up, so I would start there!

I am not sure where to begin because this is a very new career for me. I am able to ascend the ladder by beginning at the bottom. Can you give me some advice before this fair starts, as you mentioned to start there? Thank you very much.

There's nowhere else to start, except the beginning 🙂

I would give this page a read to get a sense of what the career entails and see how it sounds: https://www.isc2.org/succeed-in-cybersecurity

This video also gives you an idea of how and why you should become an ISC2 Candidate to get your start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjzVVyM8-L0

Hi there!  Thanks for reaching out to us!  I am Beth Paredes, Director of Member Engagement here at ISC2.  For advice and guidance about job search, I recommend watching our student/early career webinar series found here:   https://series.brighttalk.com/series/6197/?utm_source=ISC2Webinars&utm_medium=BrightTALK&utm_campaig....

I specifically will start with this webinar series on Getting your Cybersecurity Role, Part 1 that can be viewed here:  https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/260/608668?utm_source=ISC2Webinars&utm_medium=BrightTALK&utm_cont...

I hope these resources will be helpful to you.

Thanks again for reaching out!

Beth, thank you for replying to my post. I was in a desperate situation and did not know what to do next because I saw that multiple job posts on Indeed indicated that I needed a few years of experience. Without a doubt, I will look them up. Thank you for it. Regarding the virtual career that was just posted above, what are your thoughts?

Thank you. I saw the links you provided. Where can I receive training for free while I am studying? My question was prompted by you-tube's mention of that. Could you point me in the right direction for that one? Thank you.

You should be networking with infosec people in your area.

Look for local chapters of ISSA, ISC2, ISACA, etc.  Any Defcon meetup groups or CitySec groups.  Or any local homegrown groups.  These people can be mentors, let you know about local jobs, etc.

Look out for local infosec conferences and events.  BSides conferences, or conferences organized by any of the above.

Hey everyone, I hope you are doing well. I'm looking for a way to do some on-the-job training here in my town. Where should I look and who should I ask? I plan to let them know that I am about to be certified as a CC. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thank you!
