On February 1st, the Minister for Justice and Equality, Charlie Flanagan, T.D., and the Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, Pat Breen announced publication of the Data Protection Bill 2018.
The enactment of the Bill together with the entry into force of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on 25 May will modernise Ireland’s data protection laws and create a consistent data protection regime across the European Union.
