TEMU and Privacy

This article starts off with "A shopping app that didn’t exist four months ago might be changing the game of e-commerce, however, experts say it’s also raising concerns about data privacy risks for Canadians."

I would keep some of the issues in mind and check the local privacy regulations understanding that TEMU is based in China.

In actuality, most folks should worry about their privacy when using any service on the Internet.

I don't disagree with the author, e-commerce is a good thing.  My thoughts only, COVID did more damage than just people's health and deaths.  I have seen so many brick and mortar stores close and move to this model.

Some of those are being successful, however shipping charges, etc. are beginning to take the toll on their businesses and we (at least here in No. America) we are seeing what I call fire sales and the dropping of shipping to $1 or free to get folks to buy.

I am always concerned about who I provide my PII to........and what they might do with it whether it be Amazon, Shein, or TEMU.

@dcontestiIt is interesting to see that the general quality of the products sold, are nice to have and it is suspected many of which will end up in the scrap heap.  But given that New Zealand is now in a technical recession, perhaps a lot of people here will recognise that the cost of living has soared and they simply do not have the spare funds to pay for such things.
