ProtonMail Discloses Users IP Address

Recently, ProtonMail had to comply with Swiss authorities and disclose a "climate activists" IP address and information related to the type of device used to access the service. All of this despite their "no logs claim". Read more about the legal request directly from the ProtonMail team on Reddit.

Users of the service who are concerned about the visibility of their IP address should use a VPN (preferably 7 proxies;) or access the service over the Tor network.

Seem like the solution is pretty cut and dry to me. Of course, then they would have to worry about those darn Pirates.

Ha ha. A vivid example/reason of customers should apply Zero Trust policies to service providers.
