Hi All

Canada is certainly proactive:

What do you think?

The Canadian government has at least three bills under first reading.

This one known as C-27 does cover Privacy and AI.

The other one (S-7), I posted here regarding the government  permitting  Canada Border Services agents to read or view “emails, documents, texts, instant messages, photos or videos” on the cellphones, laptops, tablets, smart watches and any other devices of anyone entering the country – citizen, refugee or visitor – without a warrant.

The third bill (Bill C-11) — is a reboot of a prior Liberal attempt to submit the internet to CRTC control — would force control over online streaming platforms (i.e., Netflix, YouTube, etc.) to ensure Canadian content not being excessively being pushed on viewers.

More information here:

Unfortunately, or not, all three bills are only in first reading which means they can be changed, modified, etc. before they become final which could cause delays.
