I'm trying to be nice.

I have done many, many migrations and upgrades over the past 20 years. I have never been more annoyed than I am today with the ISC2 website/member portal/CPE submission process.

1. Logging in works periodically, or not at all.

2. Where did all of the my history go? I have no idea what made into the new system

3. Why is ISC2 sending so many emails about maintenance fees, which do not match the information on the website?

Does anything work on website at all besides training (which doesn't add to my CPE's automatically) (yes, i've tried all of your tips). I have no idea if I even have my CISSP anymore, despite paying for it 2x this year. Which, honestly, I don't think it's wise at all to increase membership fees, given that the website hasn't worked properly since Spring/Summer 2018.

When can we expect this to be resolved?

@jgreenaaron, at least you've tried to be nice, coz frankly, I don't know if many of us have done that. A lot of the members have expressed their woes about the portal being plagued with issues, and if you do a search of the forum I'm sure you'll find no shortage of posts about these --- a recent one by @MikeGlassman suggested that we should have a dedicated area on the forum for them.

It's really annoying that the process to add CPEs if they don't get updated automatically deviates from what's put on the guide; apparently that's another flaw that's yet to be fixed.

As for the revised AMF policy, the reaction on the community made it clear that the most users were appalled. (The emails we're getting are probably automated --- and the information in them is confusing.)

Answering your last question is going to be a challenge, as per (ISC)2, the portal is supposed to be ready & working with no issues this year --- but you can believe that at your own risk.  Man Wink

Fees used to be offsetable against income tax and my employer would reimburse 1 set of professional fees per year that claim the tax back.

Charging twice means an unexpected bill which was really unwelcome given I also pay fees to BCS, ISACA and IISP.  The small reduction in fees for those who hold multiple ISC2 certificates will take years to offset this year's increase.

I still do not understand the math behind having to pay DOUBLE fees this year and I'm a cryptographer;)

I note the care with which your posting is worded 🙂

Do a search on CPE and you will see you are in good company. Some of the
complaints go back year, and may not yet be fixed 🙂

Oh! Oh! I know this one!
Because ISC2 wants your money!
(OK, what do I win?)

Yes. Some things do work. Sometimes. (Often not in the way you think they
do.) For example, if you read this, then "subscriptions" and "reply via email" are
actually working this morning! (No guarantee on this afternoon ...)

I can actually help you with this! (Maybe.) If you go to
https://webportal.isc2.org/custom/certificationverification.aspx
you can enter your first and last name and cert number, and it will tell you if ISC2
thinks you have a CISSP right now. Of course, when I went to check it, I tried
five times before the page appeared, and even
https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com thought it was down at one point, so ...

You are not alone ...

I'm thinking this is a good candidate for post of the year ... 🙂

Concurrently raising fees and changing payment timing was not the brightest of PR moves.

I feel for the future CISSPs.  In addition to paying $699 to take the test, they will need to pony up an additional $125 as a reward for passing the test.

Only 138,530 members? Hmmmm, as far as I recall, we hit 100K over a decade
ago. So we seem to be asymtotically approaching a lmit that isn't too high above
where we are now. No wonder HQ is panicking about raising fees ...

(And I guess it's not a surprise, but it's interesting to be reminded that the
Vancouver Security SIG is 6 years older than ISC2 ...)

(Wait: "exceeded" 140,000? It was just two pages before, in big bold print, that
contradicted our Fearless CEO ...)

Per the 2014 annual report, that happened sometime during 2014.

..."exceeded" 140,000? It was just two pages before, in big bold print,...

Page 3 says 138,530 members.  Page 5 says 140,000+ members and associates.  This tells us there is somewhere on the order of 2000 associates.

Also, comparing this with the member counts URL (which is really certificate counts), we now know members average 1.09 certificates each (=151,508/138530).
