Help with inforsec magazine quiz submission

Hello,

Can someone help me with submitting a quiz from the InfoSecProfessional Magazine for Jul-Aug 2018? On page 10 there is a link for a quiz that gives 2 CPEs if the issue is read but it directs me to some symposium portal with webinar links (which don't work) and seems cannot do any quiz in there??? Am I doing something wrong or am missing something? I also seem to not be able to log on to the symposium portal - do this need a different account?

You need to "create a profile" in the top right corner of the blueskybroadcast page and then login.

Often times if you are not already logged in the login process will "forget" that it was supposed to send you back to the quiz page.  If this happens, go back to the (ISC)² page and again click the link using the same browser window that you already used to login.

Ah, yet another CPE portal issue  🙂

@denbesten's suggestion is undoubtedly correct, but, if not, you might do a search on "CPE" and see if any of those trigger a thought.

And, to the Powers-That-Be, might we suggest that the magazine's promise of CPEs bear a large, friendly, red label that informs people that they require a blueskybroadcast account, since it isn't intuitively obvious that reading a magazine needs one?

This is a good suggestion and we'll add some copy to the area where we have the link to the Blue Sky site and the CPE quiz. That will start will the Sept/Oct 2018 issue.

What?  No kudo?  No "Solution"?  No badge?

Darn.

(Whoops!  Did that get past the pr0n filter?)

Kudo provided. I was working to make sure we got this into the Sept/Oct issue (which is about to go into production in the next few days).

Hardly.  This is an issue with the Blue Sky login process.

As I see it, there are three solutions to this issue (from easiest to best user experience):

  1. Provide end-user instructions (as @Tim_ISC2 is already doing) regarding the need to login.
  2. Instead link to a page that displays the login prompt before proceeding onto the quiz.
  3. Have Bluesky federate with the same Okta system as used by the newer (ISC)² properties.
