Utah is first state to ban warrant-less data searches ...

Personally I'm all for this.  Just as much as I want vendors to protect my privacy, I expect my government organisations to behave in the same capacity. 

 

I'm sure there are those that will be very frustrated by this beyond law enforcement.

I was going to ask how this would stack up against the PATRIOT Act, when I noted that it only applies to state law enforcement. (I guess the fibbies still have free rein.) (And probably Facebook does, too.)

 

Still, it's a start ...
