(This isn't exactly "industry" news, but that's the only news we've got, so ...)
Somebody over at IT World is equating the end-of-encryption-as-we-know-it-due-to-quantum-computing with the time travel plot in the new "Avengers: Endgame" movie. And that time travel makes for pretty good decryption, since you can go back in time to before the plaintext was encrypted.
Yeah, I'd say they are equivalent. Equally improbable ...
