Hi All

Something we all probably neglect, so this is a timely warning:

It’s a salient point.

This in its various forms always tickled me:

“Stress is the confusion created when one's mind overrides the body's basic desire to choke the living daylights out of someone who desperately deserves it.”

I think there are two themes I observe, the first is around the volume of work required, the second is the ability to handle ambiguity, you have to make a decision but all of the information needed isn’t there, you’re constrained by time, resource and the effectiveness of controls.

Level headed colleagues and management are very important here as well, always seeking to avoid making drama from crisis will help the whole team.

In May of this year, we ( @TrickyDicky @Caute_cautim and I) put together a blog on How to prevent Burnout around a Breach:   https://blog.isc2.org/isc2_blog/2022/05/how-to-prevent-burnout-among-cybersecurity-professionals-bef...

Much of the advice in that article can be used to help Security Professionals deal with day to day support.

I make it a point to go outside every two hours, and make a loop around the building, or down the sidewalk if I need to extend it a bit.  It keeps my circulation moving, it changes my perspective, and freshens my air.
