Facebook and local news

News media sources have been facing income and revenue problems due to pressure from the online world.  Companies like Facebook, for example, abstract news from local sources and provide it to users.

Given our own organisations from this end of the world, due to the circumstances that occurred locally; they did embargo and encourage other organisations to stop all advertising via social media due to the circulation of video footage which was deemed unlawful by the Censor.  

 

Not sure whether or not it had much impact on Facebook or Google but only time will tell.
