DJI will no longer stop drones from flying over airports, wildfires, and the White House - The Verge
I would like to hear what a technical response would be to this. The air transport industry heavily relies on radio communication in many, many forms, so jamming can be crude and ugly.
This is an alarming story to read.
So personally, I am not a fan of drones (but then I am old and cranky).
If we look at the Los Angeles fires, recently a drone operator crashed their device into one of the Canadair CL-415s being used to help fight the fires thus taking the aircraft out of service.
If drone operators are going to be as careless as this person, I believe they should be restricted.

@dcontesti Yeah, that was horrifying to learn. The drone owner should be charged with the cost to repair the plane.
I am aware that every takeoff has a built-in risk of a bird strike to an engine. Many airports address birds with different countermeasures. But a drone strike -- which could now become a more realized threat -- can be precise and intentional, thanks to cameras and 360-degree flight capability.
