There has been plenty of traffic here about Huawei and their shenanigans. We know about their very active cybersecurity program. Now they are targeting a specific people group to gain information on them.
Should we have such a vested interest in their production facilities for all things IT related? I think produce would be reasonably safe from the possibility of electronic eavesdropping. Maybe textiles as well. I'm not sure anything else is free from their capabilities to "weaponize" for their benefit.

Huawei is the new cash cow that is funding Canadian University researchers. Why the Canadian government is allowing them to research and develop the next generation of mobile communication (5G) technology and transfer that IP back to China is beyond me.
