The CISSP contains 100 to 150 multiple-choice and advanced innovative questions.
(ISC)² has introduced Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) for all English CISSP exams worldwide. Based on the same exam content outline as the linear, fixed-form exam, CISSP CAT is a more precise and efficient evaluation of your competency. CISSP CAT enables you to prove your knowledge by answering fewer items and completing the exam in half the time.
Hi @ShraddhaSingh (cc @PawelP),
The (ISC)2 CISSP CAT exam may have 100, up to 150 questions. The test *is* variable length meaning it's dynamically adaptive and you may receive any number of questions between 100 and 150. Obviously 100 is the minimum; if a candidate exhibits high competency levels in advanced questions in each of the 8 domains, the test responds differently with less questions.
I did verify this internally with the person who oversaw the updates to CAT.
Hope this helps!

Hi Jennifer. Maybe you are right but few my colleagues took the new version of CISSP. Few of them had 100 questions (some of them pass, some unfortunately not). One my colleague had 150. So I do have any example in practice that is possible to get between 101-149 questions 😉. But of course we can ask others.
I was lucky enough to pass the new CISSP adaptive exam with 100 questions in 100 minutes.
Though like many have mentioned, I was not sure if I had passed when it ended or if it was time to start planning for the second try.
Hi,
It's right here on the ISC2 website. 125 to 175 questions on the adaptive exam as of mid-2022: https://www.isc2.org/notice/CISSP-Exam-Length?force_isolation=true
Good fortune in your studies! It's a tough exam to pass, especially on the first try.
regards,
