Failed to purchase CISSP exam and charged but error on checkout

Hi

I'm trying to purchase the CISSP exam today and encountered the error below with my credit card payment.

It was really stressful, as I have to pay a considerably hefy exam fee and no valid exam appears on my ISC2 dashboard and with a credit card charge and the possibility of no refund if the dispute fails through.

This time round, I was able to able to get my refund back, however, I am really concerned that the situation may be the same again if I try to make a purchase again and given that I've also seen many too have encountered this uncertainty in the ISC2 community board.

Please advise how I can make a more confident successful purchase transaction?

Thank you for reaching out via ISC2 Community. I'm sorry to learn about the inconvenience you're experienceing with your exam purchase.

@Mark-Low I see you have a case open with the Exam Administration team. We work our cases in the order in which they are received.

In the meantime,  the transaction is most likely “pending” on your bank’s side and has not been successfully processed on our end.  As you do not see your exam in your ISC2 profile, there is most likely no "record of purchase" on your ISC2 record.

I suggest allowing 7–14 working days for the funds to be released back to your account. This may happen sooner, or it could take slightly longer, depending on your bank’s processing times. While the amount may still appear as pending during this period, it should automatically drop off once the bank completes the reversal.

If the funds have not been returned after this timeframe, you may wish to follow up directly with your bank for more information.

My best suggestion for you is to wait a few days to confirm that the funds were returned to your account. Once you’ve confirmed that, you are welcome to attempt your exam purchase again.
