If someone completed an accredited IT Security analyst program, should he or she still take the CC and SSCP exams or does this program cover these?
Before you decide of you want to further with ISC2 or not, there are few things you have to consider.
1. If you want to take the ISC2 exams what is your purpose? . You have to decide whether you just want a certificate or the knowledge
2. Understand what you stand to gain as an ISC2 member. To excel in the field of Cybersecurity, your skill/knowledge and certifications are important. ISC2 gives you the opportunity to be part of a global community who share common goa. Secondly ISC2 certificate is among the top rated certifications in the industry. This and more you may have to consider and then make your choice base on what you want.
So my suggestion is why not do both. The CC is currently free to candidates. Taking that exam will hopefully provide a "taste" of how the (ISC)2 exams are structured.
Once one then take the SSCP. A reminder that the SSCP requires one year experience.
However, having said all of that, depending on your experience, you may wish to consider the CISSP. Yes the experience requirement is 5 years but you can take it, pass and if you do not have the required experience become an associate of ISC2 (and work to gain the correct level of experience you need, from the website:
( A candidate who doesn't have the required experience to become a CISSP may become an Associate of ISC2 by successfully passing the CISSP examination. The Associate of ISC2 will then have six years to earn the five years required experience.)
You asked "If someone completed an accredited IT Security analyst program, should he or she still take the CC and SSCP exams or does this program cover these?"
I would suggest that you read the information about the two certification to see if either is right for you,

Great suggestions @dcontesti!
We've heard from quite a few folks that they take advantage of the One Million Certified in Cybersecurity pledge to gain access to free ISC2 training and an exam, to familiarize themselves with what ISC2 training and exams are like.
