CCFP is over. Long live CCFP?

Dear community,

Now that CCFP is set to be discontinued, what will be (ISC)2's next certificaition for forensics experts? Will or shall there be a new certification specific to forensics?

Does abolishing CCFP mean that other intitutions/vendors have been (un)officially recognized by (ISC)2 as de facto standard certifications on this subject matter? Which ones would you consider most prominent?

Kind regards,

Dimitris Georgiou

There's a good thread on this here:

https://community.isc2.org/t5/Certifications/Is-the-ISC-2-CCFP-Certifcation-totally-dead-or-will-it-...

In there some alternatives are suggested, and there's official word from Kaity as to why the CCFP is being made inactive - based on that I'd say it's unlikely that ISC2 will create another forensics related certification.

Hello Alec,

I understand. Pity that ISC2 has backed down form the forensics arena.

Have a nice day!

Unlike other certification bodies (ISC)2 has does a great job at maintaining a truly global "gold standard" with more than 142,000 CISSP's (36% of which are outside of the US) (member counts here). It is unfortunate that the foray into other certifications like the CCFF just did not have enough public interest (264 certified) to justify maintaining it. Which certification will be next to byte the dust?
