Senior Security Software Engineer Opportunity w/rapid growth company

This role is based at our Phoenix, AZ HQ, and would require relocation to the Phoenix area.

 

Come join the Nikola Motor’s Vehicle Software Team as a Sr. Security Software Engineer. To help facilitate the creation and delivery of software for our TRE Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) infotainment Human Machine Interface (HMI).

What you’ll own:

The in-depth understanding of our existing security architecture.

 

Define needed architectural changes to meet our security goals.

 

Implement key security features using hardware security controller mechanisms such as secure boot, encryption, over the air updates, etc.

 

All aspects of security design, implementation, and compliance.

 

Your focus will be on an embedded security strategic approach that will protecting our software running on embedded systems.

 

Strategic Priorities & Challenges:

Over the next year we will be building and selling 300 semi-trucks. This requires implementing functionality, safety, and security requirements.

 

Are you capable of:

Security expertise in the embedded space (ARM) to cloud.

 

Having a strategic, “crystal ball” way of looking at issues to avoid problems as well as a systematic approach to solving them.

 

Successfully developed/deployed secure products.

 

Developing processes and custom tools.

 

What you “MUST” already bring to the table:

 

  • BS, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering OR equivalent (and proven) work experience in a software-related field.
  • 10-15 years of proven experience as a Security Software Engineer or Security Engineer (Sr. or Lead).
  • Expertise in Cyber Security and security architectures is a must!
  • Subject matter expert and experience implementing embedded security, network security and wireless security features.
  • Successfully designed, built, and deployed secure products.
  • Proficiency with C++ and the ARM architecture.
  • Product development know-how.

Additional “nice to have” Profile Characteristic:

 

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • ISO 21434
  • SAE J3061
  • Automotive industry experience.

Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. 

This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
