For those with access to Zoom (or, apparently Skype for Business), we will be having a virtual meeting on June 12th, 2020, at 2 pm/1400H (until 4 pm) Pacific time.
Some guy named Rob Slade will be presenting "Security Lessons from CoVID-19."
Register here. (I'd post the link, but every time I do that, the "community" editor pitches a fit, and won't let me post.)
For those who haven't used Zoom, we've done some testing that seems to indicate that it doesn't matter. If anyone who hasn't used Zoom wants to test that out, we'd be grateful.
For the Vancouver Security SIG/ISC2 Chapter June meeting, see:
http://www.infosecbc.org/events/new-calendar-event-3/
(No charge for membership or meetings.)
For those who have not used Zoom, the meeting will be open from 1:30 pm,
formal meeting starts at 2 pm (Pacific).
Zoom seems to install very easily, persistently, and with minimal user involvement and maximum access. Some details are at:

For questions, either before the session (trying to join) or after:
rslade@vcn.bc.ca is an old but stable Freenet type system.
rslade@gmail.com is pretty reliable, as is rmslade@outlook.com.
rmslade@shaw.ca is my main address, but I access it through a safe, but old, mailer,
so if you do any fancy formatting, copying rslade@gmail.com and
rmslade@outlook.com is probably a good idea. (Pretty much all of the addresses
eventually get forwarded to the safe mailer.)
https://twitter.com/rslade can be used to contact me.

Rob,
Great presentation!
Hopefully I can attend a few more of the meetings.
Great group of people you have in the group/chapter!
Stay healthy and safe!
Sincerely,
Gerry
Yup, great group.
First off, thank you to the group, overall, for letting me try out the "Security Lessons from CoVID-19" presentation.
Then, thank you to Fred (and Clio) for giving us access to your Zoom account, and a test run, and hosting. As far as I can tell, the moderating went off without a hitch.
Thank you to Carolyn for getting through multiple versions of the announcement, and the registration, and the meeting URL, and getting the Website stuff up.
Thanks to Stan and Orvin for co-hosting, and taking care of the queries from chat and Slack and stuff.
Thanks to Ryan for fighting with ISC2 over CPE submissions. (ISC2 HQ still haven't decided what to do about that. They probably will make a decision around the time a vaccine is found.)
Thanks to Tina and Don for the announcements mailing list.
Thank you to Tania, and Lloyd, and other members of the working group for all kinds of background stuff.
Thanks to Gary from NZ and Gerry and the gang from San Diego for attending from so far away. And thanks to everybody else who attended our inaugural "virtual" event.
And thanks to Stan and the gang for agreeing that it was worthwhile, and we should do it again in July 🙂
Stay tuned for further info 🙂
And a got a haircut and a beard trim today, so Santa Rob is no more 🙂
