Hello ISC2 Community,
I am interested in joining an ISC2 chapter in Zambia.
However, it appears that a chapter has not yet been formally established. I also understand that I do not currently meet the requirements to initiate one myself.
I would therefore like to find out if there are any alternatives available, such as plans for a chapter in the pipeline, or any informal communities for ISC2 members in Zambia (for example, a WhatsApp or online user group).
I would appreciate any guidance or pointers you can provide.
I see there is an ISACA chapter in Zambia. Maybe consider that?
Sure. Thanks. Appears to be Auditor focused though.
@KatChis05 Yes, ISACA is a about IT Audit, but that includes cybersecurity. With my local chapter, there is cross over between ISACA and ISSA (the professional association for cybersecurity).
Interesting. Worth checking out. Thanks again.
Hi @KatChis05 ,
If you missed the announcement on the main page today, this community will be decommisioned May 29. We're now encouraging people to come on over to the newly launched ISC2 Chapters Community. While you may not have an active ISC2 Chapter in your local area, you can connect with other chapters virtually there. For example, many chapters hold virtual events and accept guests or members to join from outside their geographic area. The new ISC2 Chapters Community can give you visibility to those types of events and more.
Not all current chapters are in the system yet. We will continue to onboard chapters and grow the site over the next year. In the meantime, you can look around and engage in the general discussion forum, which is open to you even if you are not a current chapter member.
