How to create professional chapter

Hi all

I am from Australia and I usually work with IT immigrants in Australia and help them in finding jobs. I want to setup a chapter in Australia for ISC related degrees. Is there any formal guideline or process which can help me in setting up chapter.

Regards

Asim

Hello Asim!

My name is Paula, and I am a Chapter Relations Specialist with (ISC)². Thank you for your interest in starting a chapter in Australia!

First off, there are already two active chapters in Australia - Melbourne and Sydney/NSW. You can find more about those chapters here:

CHAPTER DIRECTORY

If you are outside of those chapter territories and are still interested in starting an official Chapter with (ISC)²,  you would need to meet the following requirements:

  • Be an (ISC)² member in good standing for a minimum of 3 years
  • Be a resident of the area in which you plan to start a chapter for at least one year
  • Have proven leadership experience in a professional setting
  • Not currently serving as an officer of another security chapter organization
  • No previous convictions of criminal activity or conduct

Also, you agree to:

  • Not offer unauthorized training or training materials that prepare individuals for any (ISC)2 related exam or otherwise commercially compete with (ISC)2 education products and services. (Free study groups conducted and run by Chapter officers and or members excluded.)
  • Attend at least one of two scheduled online Chapter Officer Meetings (virtually) throughout the year. (APAC Region only)

It seems as if the next opening for applications in your region (APAC) will be in the second quarter of 2018.

Learn more about the whole process of starting a chapter, the application process (and preview of the questions), and more by visiting our START A CHAPTER page.

You can read the entire chapter chartering guidelines HERE.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at chapters@isc2.org.

Thank you so much!
