Micro Focus – Data Security is seeking a qualified Solution Architect (Pre-Sales) to support our US East Sales team in various Pre-Sales activities including: requirements discovery, product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, technical solution presentations and to provide leadership and direction as the senior technical lead, working as the liaison with Professional Services, Product Management, Engineering and Support. The successful candidate will be a remote-worker (WFH) supporting named-account customers in the NYC area addressing their PCI, PII, PHI and GDPR challenges with game-changing technology such as Micro Focus Voltage SecureData (Format-Preserving Encryption, Stateless Tokenization and Page-Integrated Encryption).
Responsibilities:
Provide PreSales and Sales Engineering support to new and existing customers as part of the Micro Focus Security – Data Security team
Liaise with C-level management, Business & Technical Teams (e.g. developers, DBAs, IT Admin, IT security) during sales engagements
Manage the execution of successful POCs to drive revenue for the team
Present Product information using excellent verbal and written communication skills
Assist in the responses to RFIs and RFPs
Provide feedback internally to enhance the product, processes and knowledge including authoring papers and creating technical materials as needed
Build strong relationships with customers to advance deal
Work with partners including global systems integrators as a mentor and subject matter expert advisor
Documenting and updating Salesforce CRM (as required)
Education and Experience Required:
Technical University degree or Bachelor's degree preferred
- CISSP designation highly regarded
Typically 8-12 years’ experience in technical consultative selling or architecture
Experience in encryption, tokenization and key management technologies
Experience with Hadoop and Micro-services associated technology
Previous software development experience (C/C++, .Net, Java, etc.) an asset
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Has a solid understanding of technical selling enterprise security software
Displays excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Exceptionally strong presentation and technical evangelizing skills
Working knowledge of Oracle, Teradata, SQL, DB2, Hadoop, Apache NiFi, database configuration and programming on UNIX and Windows systems
Demonstrates solid understanding of enterprise application infrastructure (Web Servers, Application Servers, Databases, SOA, Web Services, Messaging, etc.)
Well versed with Key Management and Encryption technologies and quickly establishes thought leadership with customers in this area
Has previous experience with PCI DSS and other regulatory standards that deal with the protection of PII and PHI data
Has an excellent grasp of enterprise integration challenges
Appropriately tailors communications to varying levels of customer management
Leverages strong understanding of the competition - both positioning strategy and technology - to create competitive advantage for Micro Focus Security products
