Other vendor certifications for CPEs

Hello Everyone,

I am kind of new to this CPE submission stuff and have so far only been accumulating CPEs through attending online webinars.

I recently passed my CYSA+ exam on Sept 6th and am wondering if I can apply this for the 40 CPE credits given this is another vendor certification? Does the 40 CPE credit apply to only ISC2 certifications?

Also, if I can claim the CPEs, under what category in the CPE submission should I select? I am not seeing a section for self-study or self-development.

Thanks for any assistance with this.

Hello @latent!

Yes, activites from other providers are eligible for CPE credits for your ISC2 certifications. You don't get CPEs for getting another cert, but you get it for taking a training. So a 40-hour course would be 40 CPE credits.

Webinars are eligible for credit, as are podcasts and reading articles. 1 hour = 1 credit.

This is a nice walkthrough on submitting Group A (aka activities that relate to the domains of your certification) activities: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqvsSCV48VI

And this is the link to access the CPE portal itself: https://www.isc2.org/Dashboard/CPE
