Hello,

Not sure when exactly was this posted but good luck with your second attempt.

I'm planning to sit for the exam but not sure where to begin. After a long research, I decided to get the ISC2 CC exam before preparing for CGRC which I'm currently working on.

The CC appears to be similar to Security+ so that's a benefit since I have achieved Security+.

The ISC2 online self-paced training seems pricey and I'm not sure how long do I need (90/180 days) if I use it as the primary source of information.

I'm wondering what materials do you use?

Any other resources do you rely on?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,

Mostafa

I'm interested as I'm in the same boat preparing for my second attempt as well.

Please let me know when we can connect.

Thanks

I would like to join this group. I trying to prepare for my first attempt and I am so lost, don't know where to start and I find the material is very user unfriendly.

@ChristineKamal It was tough for me because is so non-technical. I used the NIST documents for mine which are no cost online. They have added other frameworks since then though. I would suggest their references link if have something need help with. https://www.isc2.org/certifications/references#CGRC Best wishes.

Do you know if the e-textbook includes everything that is in the modules or not? So CCan I depend on the textbook fully?

@ChristineKamal Unfortunately I do not know. I self-studied for mine with the NIST documents which are very easy to read. Since they have added some other frameworks, you really need to look at the exam objectives (ISC2 calls it an exam outline) to make sure of what need to know for the exam and to identify any knowledge gaps. ISC2 does try to create complete documents but are also created to complement their training.

Hi,

I also took self-paced ISC2 training and took CGRC test a few weeks ago and passed.

I think the textbook was good to understand all the concepts in GRC, but the test itself was more of a high level based on the concepts in the textbook. I suggest you focus on the steps and what needs during, before, and after each steps of RMF and roles and responsibilities.

I got some questions that I didn't see in the textbook..

It's important to study other frameworks.

I am interested in joining the study group as well. I have worked as an ISSO so the RMF steps are natural but it seems to include COBIT, ISO, HIPAA, etc. so I'm digging into those as well.

I am preparing to sit for the first time.
