Hello! I'm studying for the CC exam and I haven't found anything on what IS allowed to brought/used during the exam. For example, I would like to bring my notes and study material to use a reference during the exam. I've taken the GIAC GSEC exam and I was allowed to bring all my books from the training course into the exam.
I haven't come across any posts about it so I thought I would ask if it's allowed to bring books/notes into an ISC2 exam.
Thank you and good luck to future CC exam takers!
You will be taking the CC certification exam in-person at a Pearson VUE location.
No watch, no keys, no wallet, no cell phone, no drinks, no hat, no coat, and no notes, no books, etc. etc. etc. are allowed in the exam room. No belongings allowed.
The exam proctor may provide you with a dry erase board and a pen.
You have about 3 minutes to agree to the terms of the exam once the proctor starts your exam.
You will be provided with a small locker to store your wallet/purse.
No notes/books are allowed inside the Pearson VUE location.
You may not study in the hall of the building either.
And no loitering is allowed.
Thank you!
@TurboSloth52 to add a note to what @Spirnia said.
GIAC exams are the ONLY ones to allow you to bring in their training materials and notes to their exam. But their exams are pretty tough despite that. FWIW I have 4 GIAC certs.
What is noted is the norm for taking an exam at a testing center for pretty much everyone else (ISACA, ISC2, PMI, et al)
Thank you for reaching out via ISC2 Community.
No, candidates are not permitted to bring anything into the testing area other than their ID and the key to the locker where you will store your belongings while you are testing.
I suggest you review the information here: https://www.isc2.org/frequently-asked-questions and https://www.isc2.org/exams so you know what to expect during the exam process.
I wish you all the best with your exam!
