Update guys, I did my exam today and passed!
My external resources (apart from the ISC2 study modules I crushed day-in-month-out, last year) were Mike Chappel’s CC material, ChatGPT and Prabh Nair’s YouTube video as my intermittent test after each domain, his first video was an eye-opener for identifying keywords.
P.S: I couldn't finish even 1 practice test.
Hear me out! I presumed 5days will do for “practice” as I thought I only had to brush up for the exams, so I took 5-days leave. Only for me to realise there were so many gaps I didn't know, and others, understand. So, I believed I needed to prioritise study over practising, because what am I practising on when I don't have a good knowledge? I was only able to do almost half of Prabh Nair’s practice test 1, this morning before I settled in for my exam.
All these resources were with the help and guidance I got in here directly from
@mdouble2, who also pointed me to other resources, then some other earlier tips and lessons from other wonderful people here (on this platform), who didn't gatekeep their experiences.
In my experience, it is very easy to fall into the rabbit hole of unending resources and materials and not knowing which one or what to do— I don't see any of these materials as a cut answer, anyone who has done the exam would most likely agree. However, I bet that having and gaining GOOD KNOWLEDGE from any rich resource— knowing the 5 domains well— your onions, would really help in the exam.
Read and understand, study deeply, study structure by structure, memorise and assimilate.
For the Exam:
Please be time-conscious. Because I'd learned from one of the write-ups I read in here that there is enough time, so I decided to take my time, only for me to realise I took too long on some questions; the first 20s especially. Take your time and also take your time— if you know what I mean.
The domains are broad, I know, I know, but your brain is broader. Know them well; the good part is that they are (somewhat) interconnected, so a good knowledge and deep dive of some part, will make some other part light for you.
The exam seemed tough, in my experience, “tricky”, as a lot of people testified. However, I believe if you read well and you are richly knowledgeable of every concept, you'll be able to identify the borderline and apply wisdom to why XYZ is the best answer!
I haven't recovered yet from the exam mode. But I couldn't have been “unbothered” because I was also a beneficiary of other people’s time and benevolence!
Thank you all, and I wish you all the best!
