My Fellow (ISC)2 Members and Associates,
As you know, (ISC)2 announced our CEO succession plan earlier this year, and the Board of Directors began its search for a new leader for our association. I am pleased to share with you that today we announced the appointment of Clar Rosso as our new CEO, effective October 1.
You can read more in the press release we issued today, but I want to convey my excitement for Clar joining (ISC)2 and how much the Board looks forward to working with her to achieve our vision of inspiring a safe and secure cyber world. Clar is an accomplished leader with nearly 20 years of experience with professional membership associations. She is joining us from the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), where she is executive vice president of engagement and learning innovation. Clar brings a wealth of experience spanning operations, sales, education, communications, events and more.
Under Clar’s leadership, you will see a continued focus on member value, including your professional development and the return on investment for all the time and energy you spent earning your certification. We will focus on continuing to grow our ranks to ensure we expand the workforce with skilled and talented professionals. We will also work hard to do our part to ensure that cybersecurity is a rewarding and welcoming career for everyone by focusing on diversity on a global scale.
On behalf of your (ISC)2 Board of Directors and the CEO search committee, I hope you share our excitement for Clar’s appointment. Once Clar officially joins (ISC)2 on October 1, you’ll hear more from her and her plans for the future.
I would also like to offer our profound thanks to our outgoing CEO David Shearer, whose leadership over the last 8 years has led us through a period of unprecedented growth and change. We can all be proud of David’s leadership, especially this year with the COVID-19 pandemic. He and the senior leadership team have done an admirable job responding to this crisis. At the Board’s request, David will remain with the team in an advisory role to ensure a smooth transition and a strong close to 2020. Thank you, David.
There is so much opportunity ahead of (ISC)2 and for all of us as cybersecurity professionals. Thank you for your membership and continued support of our association.
Regards,
Dr. Kevin Charest, CISSP
Chairperson
(ISC)2 Board of Directors
