CISSP experience question

Hello,

I previously worked 2 jobs concurrently, one full time and one part time. Am I able to apply the part time hours separately towards the work experience requirement for the CISSP in addition to the full time hours?

Thanks!

Yes, as long as your part-time job meets these official requirements:

Part-Time Experience: Your part-time experience cannot be less than 20 hours a week and no more than 34 hours a week.

  • 1040 hours of part-time = 6 months of full time experience
  • 2080 hours of part-time = 12 months of full time experience

Full-Time Experience: Your work experience is accrued monthly. Thus, you must have worked a minimum of 35 hours/week for four weeks in order to accrue one month of work experience.

Thank you for clarifying. It was 20 hours per week so it should qualify.

@msteven This part of @AppDefects's post is correct:

Part-Time Experience:Your part-time experience cannot be less than 20 hours a week and no more than 34 hours a week.

  • 1040 hours of part-time = 6 months of full time experience
  • 2080 hours of part-time = 12 months of full time experience

Full-Time Experience:Your work experience is accrued monthly. Thus, you must have worked a minimum of 35 hours/week for four weeks in order to accrue one month of work experience.

However, experience is for one job at a time.  Positions cannot overlap when applying time towards the required months needed for experience.

I hope this helps.

@tonyshiverBased on the prior reply I put in for full CISSP membership on my endorsement application. Would you be able to modify that to Associate of ISC2 at this point?

Also, can you give me any details on how to confirm full membership endorsement once the experience requirement is met (in December 2020)?

Thanks!

To make modifications to your online endorsement application, please email programs@isc2.org.

One of our Member Services Specialists will help you move to the Associate path.

I recommend asking them about the process for becoming a full member after being an Associate of (ISC)2. They're our resident experts, so I know they'll give you all the information you need!
