Aloysius Cheang is a senior corporate executive with extensive experience in managing and delivering direct business values in strategic, complex multi-million dollar IT program and business projects for Global 500 organizations worldwide. He is a globally recognised cybersecurity expert and has worked on a wide variety of complex technology and business problems. In his line of work, he had managed large multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary team spread across 5 continents and 4 major time zones. Time after time, Aloysius has successfully orchestrated a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team globally while fulfilling business requirements in a highly heterogeneous and demanding environment, many a time building up the business from scratch.
Aloysius is currently CEO of iSyncGroup Inc, a Taiwan-based IoT security company and Director of AC3Labs Pte Ltd, a private holding company located in Singapore focusing on emerging technology projects, framework agreements and investment. He is also Board Director and EVP of Asia Pacific for globally respected UK based not-for-profit think tank, the Centre for Strategic Cyberspace + Security Science (CSCSS). Aloysius was most recently Co-Founder, EVP and Managing Director for the Cloud Security Alliance Asia Pacific (CSA), covering the entire Asia including China, Japan the Indian sub-continent and ANZ, and doubled up as the organisation’s Chief Standards Officer. During his tenure with the CSA, Aloysius was instrumental for the superlative expansion of the CSA outside of the USA, obtaining critical executive buy-in and adoption from both the private and public sectors in the rest of the world as well as being influential in political and economic groups such as the ISO, INTERPOL, ITU-T, APCERT, ASEAN etc. Before his stint with the CSA, he was a global Head of Security with one of the largest telecommunication company in the world, a Technology Practice Leader covering Asia and the Middle East for a leading UK based management consulting company and a Security and Forensic Practice Leader in Singapore for a big 4 firm.
An active community leader, Aloysius have supported many security movement and cultivated numerous security groups. He was instrumental in the initiative of setting up IT Security as a professional occupation with legal statutes supporting that establishment, with attempts to create dual hubs for the certification/chartering process with Institute for Information Security Professionals (IISP) in UK and Association of Information Security Professionals (AISP) in Singapore, of which he was protem chairman AISP from 2006- 2007, and chaired its predecessor, SIG^2 from 2002 to 2006. Additionally, he was a former Head of Delegation for the Singapore National Body to ISO and the author of ISO/IEC 27032 “Guidelines for Cybersecurity" International Standard and had previously contributed to SS507 “Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Industry Standard” that was adopted as ISO/IEC 24762. As of today, he still contributes his industry knowledge on advisory boards for various Institute of Higher Learning (IHLs) and professional associations worldwide.
Aloysius holds B.Sc (Hons) and Masters in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore. His professional certifications include CISSP, CISA and GCIH.
