One of the interesting things about the "community" interface is how inconsistent it is, about the simplest of things.
For example, there is the issue of kudos, which, as I have noted before, are vitally important to the "community." And yet the interface reports them differently in different places. On the home page for the "community" is a list of "Top Contributors." Achievement of a position on this list is, apparently, based not on posts or replies, but on kudos. As I write this, the top four have 50, 29, 24, and 22 kudos respectively. And yet, immediately above this list, I see my stats, indicating I have 33 kudos, and therefore should have a position on that list.
And yet, in truth, I shouldn't have a place on that list. If you check on the profiles of the members on the list, you will find that they actually have 96, 36, 101, and 191 kudos, respectively. (Which, at the very least, indicates that the list is out of order.)
Given the disparity on this extremely simple metric, I rather wonder about the accuracy of the "Latest Topics" and "Hot Topics," as well as many other features. (I have previously noted the oddities of the "Search" function ...)
